Pierzynski suspended one game

Pierzynski has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount by Major League Baseball for his inappropriate actions during the bottom of the eighth inning of Thursday's game against the New York Yankees.

Unless appealed, Pierzynski's suspension will take place today, when the White Sox host the Houston Astros. If appealed, his suspension will be held in abeyance until the process is complete.

Pierzynski is hitting .251 with eight home runs and 21 RBI in 52 games this season.
